Staff - Ruth Curtis
Ruth Curtis Lee is a certified massage therapist licensed by Maryland since 2002. Having graduated from the Baltimore School of Massage just prior to September 11., 2001, her initial post graduate work was on a volunteer basis with rescue workers in D.C. impacted by the attack on the Pentagon. She has been practicing bodywork on a full time basis since 2005 and is currently offering her service in Westminster and the greater Baltimore areas. Ruth trained in CranioSacral Therapy in early 2006 and has incorporated it into her massage practice ever since. She has experienced amazing success with this work with a variety of trauma victims.
CranioSacral Therapy is a very light touch therapy which specifically assesses and corrects where necessary movement of the bones in the skull and sacrum. The brain and spinal cord are encased in a membrane and bathed in cerebral spinal fluid. The fluid is derived from and reabsorbed back into our blood. This action has an associated pulse not unlike a heartbeat or the rhythm of breathing, but markedly less palpable. Disruptions in this system can be caused by physical or emotional traumas and result in some level of discomfort. A session generally runs 45 minutes to an hour and is performed with the client fully clothed lying on their back on a bodywork table. Join us in September to learn more about this alternative approach to caring for the health of the amazing human body, mind and energy.
