Classes - Vegetarian Cooking

The purpose of this class is to teach one how to create tasty, nutritious, healthy meals using ingredients readily available. Organic produce is used whenever possible and recipes are geared to the health conscious as well as the gourmet, regarding taste, appearance, presentation, fat and carbohydrate content, salt and sugar.

The class runs 2.5 hours and involves watching the preparation of each recipe, then tasting and enjoying the food. Participants are asked to come hungry and willing to try foods that might be new to them.

There will be 4 single classes devoted to holiday dinner preparation in which Cindy will demonstrate how to make traditional holiday dinners in a vegetarian style. For example, a stuffed hubbard squash will be made for Thanksgiving and a low-carb pumpkin pie as well. Gravy, whipped sweet potatoes, a gluten roast and homemade cranberry sauce are a few dishes that will be presented.

One class will be devoted to Holiday bread using whole grains and flours other than wheat. The classes are held once a month from 6:30-9:00. Each class is $40. With a minimum of 5 students.
You can register online or a week before class to hold your spot.

Participants should have a basic working knowledge of cooking.
